Chilly days , Chili nights !

So you spent all summer eating light, fresh, cold food in order to stay cool and fit into your swimsuit ... but now that the cold weather is here you want something to warm you from within ?
Of the many meals I like , Chili is one of the easiest to make and preserve. There are so many different recipes for making chili and everyone has their own take on what makes chili delicious. One thing is for sure , its kind of hard to screw up this dish !

Some people like it hot , in which case I suggest adding in some crushed red pepper flakes or even freshly cut hot peppers ! Some people like it a little less piquanté ; for that, I suggest adding cheese or ordinary yoghurt ( or sour cream if you dont mind the fat ) - it helps bring the spice levels down :)

They key ingredients , in my opinion , to help achieve a tasty chili are : Onions , carrots, celery , ground pork and ground beef , red kidney beans , tomato paste/juice and diced tomatoes and lots of chili powder !!!
You can add different veggies depending on what you like and add water in order to make more.
Make sure your chili simmers for a couple hours to get the best mixture of flavors :)

I always make a big batch and sometimes freeze portions to keep for a later day when Im out of ideas or sick with a cold. It can be made vegetarian too , so really its a meal that everyone can love :)

Happy chilly nights :) !!!

Of all the things I like right now ...

... I like this accomplishment the best !
I am, as of today - September 29th - smoke-free for 3 years !!

I debated putting this on this blog because at first I wondered if anyone would really think of it as something to " like ". But after some thought, I came to the conclusion that it is something you can like.

So many people are smokers. I smoked for 8 years .. yah if you do the math I was 12 when I took my first drag from a cigarette. I am not proud of making that mistake.
I think quitting is an accomplishment that smokers need to push towards ... Quitting and then staying " smober " for 3 years without a single relapse is something I "like" a lot !!
I like how I feel 3 years later, I like how proud I get to be, I like that I don't smell like cigarettes all the time ( I never thought it smelled that bad until I quit and got a smell of someone who had never smelled like cigarettes to me before! ), and I also like knowing that I did something for my future!

It was such a difficult journey .. some days I still want a "puff". When I get super stressed I still have to stop myself from ruining my success.
I can suggest TV programs , Fashion , Products , books, music ..etc all I want , but the most important thing that I will suggest is being a healthier you. Quit for yourself, because its right for you. If you do it for someone else , you will slip and fall and have to get back up.

Ok well that's all really ! I just wanted to share something that I was really liking today :)

Have a great day !!!

Knits Knits Knits :)

Clothes and accessories are my downfall. When I fall for a trend I set out to find anything that could suit me and try and get as many versions as possible !
Well , as the post title makes quite obvious , I have fallen in love with  my knits again ! The cold makes me yank them from my closet and wear them any chance I get.
They are , in my opinion , the perfect item of clothing to change up any look. Tired of your blazer ? Switch it for a knit cardigan ( job permitting of course ). Over-sized knits are perfect for afternoon strolls in the park, so throw one over a loose tank top and head out !
There are so many options out there to choose from, and prices range from affordable to O-M-G expensive, but you are sure to find something you love :)
Since my last post about fashion didnt include any specifics , I thought I'd change it up this time and give you some places to go so you can find something perfect for you !

This Cashmere Cable knit by Autumn Cashmere is a little more expensive than I would like, but I LOVE the silhouette ! At 396$ it can be found on www.revolveclothing.com

www.asos.com carries some nice knits as well, including the next 2 items that I found while browsing their website ! More affordable , these pieces are both classic and original (especially the studded one ).
The gauge knit Reverse Studded shoulder Cardigan comes in at 78.77$ C
and the Asos Studded Jumper Knit ( in gray ) comes to 66.52 $ C.

Now for all the fashionnistas and trend setters out there , I have a site that might be of interest to you !!
I found them through Facebook and was pleasantly surprised by their website :) These are links to their Canadian and USA websites and their facebook page.

Happy Shopping , stay warm :)
